Verlaque Condiments reflect this rich heritage: wild fruits (marula) and flora (birdseye chili, rooibos & fynbos honey) from Southern Africa, tropical fruits from Northern, Central and Southern Africa (mangoes, figs, passion fruit & pomegranate), spices from the East (star anise, cinnamon, ginger, Szechuan peppercorn and clove), berries from Europe and the Americas (cranberry, raspberry & redcurrant), all cooked with fine vinegars (an art, some say, originating in ancient Egypt as early as 3000 BC).
Blended with aged balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy and fine grape vinegar from the Western Cape, these dried and fresh fruits are slowly reduced to create versatile condiments that can be used on salads, on steamed and roasted vegetables, as marinades and drizzles, and with desserts and cheeses.
